Nemophila in Bloom: MSAJ Kanto Celebrate Ibaraki Beraya
HITACHI SEASIDE PARK, 18th April 2026 – In celebration of the conclusion of Syawal, Malaysian Students’ Association in Japan (MSAJ) of the Kanto region hosted a successful potluck gathering at the scenic Hitachi Seaside Park.
Led by Kanto Regional Leader Nayli Afrina, the event was coordinated by MSAJ committee members Muhd Haiqal, Fadhliyatul Insyirah, and Muhd Raffiq. The gathering brought together 35 participants, each contributing homemade dishes to a communal feast.
Set against the iconic blue backdrop of blooming nemophila flowers, students from both the Kanto and Tohoku regions convened to foster new friendships and enjoy a shared cultural experience.
The program commenced with an opening ceremony and a welcoming address by Nayli Afrina. Following the speech, attendees enjoyed a diverse spread of authentic Malaysian cuisine—a welcome taste of home that is often a rarity in Japan. Under clear skies, the dining session provided a relaxed atmosphere for students to network and bond.
The afternoon continued with a lively Lucky Draw session, where participants won various mystery prizes. Winners were selected using a "Wheel of Names," adding an element of excitement to the festivities. The event officially concluded with a closing address and a group photography session.
As Hari Raya Aidilfitri remains a cornerstone of Malaysian culture, there is a strong commitment to upholding this annual tradition, ensuring it continues to serve as a vital link for students across Japan for years to come.
