But Who Could Have Guessed?
But who could have guessed?
As the bird flew out from the nest,
It rose above the rest,
Reaching higher than the clouds,
Dreaming boldly, flying proud.
But who could have guessed?
The bird spread its wings and flew farther,
To the rising sun that called its name,
Leaving comfort, embracing change.
It crossed the skies it had never known,
With only the winds to call its own.
The silence echoed, vast and wide,
Until it became a faithful guide.
Each foreign breeze held something new,
Each distant dawn revealed a view.
Every stumble, every climb,
Shaped its heart, one flight at a time.
The nest had taught it where to start;
The open sky transformed its heart.
For only when it dared to roam
Did it discover there was more than home.
But who could have guessed?
That being alone was not despair.
It was finding strength in quiet air,
And courage waiting everywhere.
Now when it glances back once more,
It sees the nest—but something more.
Not a cage, nor chains to bind,
But the place that first prepared its mind.
For sometimes, a different view
Begins the moment you break through.
The world stays still, yet somehow grows,
The farther from the nest one goes.
But who could have guessed?
The bird did not leave home behind.
It simply carried home within,
While learning where its soul could shine.
